Is UX/UI design lagging behind your business?

WHAT we do
(Answer YES if you sketched your app on a piece of paper and your developers built it based on that or if you cringe every time you have to share your website link with customers and investors).

No judgment, friend.

You’ve been swamped with things like developing innovative products to revolutionize your industry. (No biggie, right?). Naturally, you haven’t had the time, energy, or manpower to update your designs along the way.

And that’s been fine-ish … UNTIL NOW.

Now you have more eyes on your business and more funds in your pocket.

That means it’s more important than ever for you to scootch your app and website waaaaay up to the level they should be at – giving them a beautiful polish so the world can see you’ve made it.

At Random Pattern Studio, we combine structure, strategy, and UX principles – our go-to resources for the pattern of your brand — with striking design and your unique, random energy.

The result: a timeless design that meets your standards, impresses your investors, and connects with your customers.

OUR CAPABILITIES

How can
we help you?

01.

UX/UI Design

How it works

We like to start our process with a kick-off strategy call to ensure that we are all on the same page. This is an opportunity for you to provide us with all your requirements, concerns, and any user insights you may have. If extra research or testing is needed, no worries, we can support you with that as well.

Once we have all the necessary information, we start ideating, sketching, and designing. We work pretty well independently, but we'll share our progress constantly to get your input on time.

When everything is approved and wrapped up, we hand off the work to you and your team. We present the work on a call or through a Loom video where we explain all the design decisions.

We understand that UX/UI design requires flexibility, which is why our way of working is structured that way. Check out our How we work section to see how we can collaborate together.

Estimated timeline

We typically work in 2-week sprints, although the number of sprints required varies by project. To determine the best and most realistic timeline for your project, you can book a free discovery call where we can evaluate your needs and provide an estimate.

Web Design & Development

To run a successful business, it's essential to have a strong online presence. Your "digital home" should be designed not only to look visually appealing, but also to guide your visitors through an intentional journey of getting to know your brand, liking your brand, and ultimately buying from your brand.

How it works

Every website or e-commerce store includes UI (user interface) and UX (user experience), which incorporates strategy, behavioural psychology, and design thinking to make your site work harder for you.

If you already have a website, we can redesign it and integrate additional features or even e-commerce capabilities to add a new dimension to your brand. Please note that we only work with Webflow and Shopify platforms.

What can we do

We are typically hired for:

  • Standard business website (re)design and development (Webflow)
  • Marketing/sales landing pages design and development (Webflow)
  • One-pager design and development (Webflow)
  • Resource and/or help centers design and/or styling
  • Microsites design and development (Webflow)
  • Ecommerce (re)design (Shopify or Webflow)
  • Web strategy
  • Web audit
Estimated timeline

The timeline for your project will depend on its scope. Typically, a standard business website takes 10 weeks to complete, while an e-commerce site takes 14 weeks. Note that we plan our work in 2-week sprints to give our clients flexibility. This means that if you need us to work on a landing page that will require multiple iterations, our work structure allows for that flexibility.

To evaluate your needs and estimate the best and most realistic timeline for your project, you can schedule a free discovery call with us.

Brand Design

How it works

We uncover everything (really, everything) about your brand, your goals, your audience, and the experience you want to create. Then we design the initial concepts to define the creative direction that it’s more aligned to your brand. With this, we designed and defined all the elements of your visual identity: logos, submarks, colour palette, typography selection and pairing, iconography, and more.

What can we do

Depending on your timeline and how much in depth you want to go, we estimate a set a timeline and list of deliverables, but typically it includes:

  • Brand strategy questionnaires, workshop and deck
  • Visual identity with logos, brandmarks, colour palette, typeface selection and styling, iconography, patterns and textures.
  • Packaging design
  • Presentation design (including investor decks)
  • Brand style guide
Estimated timeline

A brand design project typically takes 8 to 10 weeks. We plan the work in 2-week sprints to give our clients flexibility. That means if you need to run the designs by key stakeholders and require extra rounds of revisions, we can easily add extra sprints if needed.

To get started, you can book a free discovery call. During this call, we can evaluate your needs and estimate the best and most realistic timeline for your project.

Our process

The Random Pattern Process

No matter which service you choose, we’ll roll out the red carpet for you with our three stage, signature process.

01. Strategy & Creative Direction

Before we dive into design, we *always* start with strategic planning and ideation. This is how we kick-off the project, to ensure you and us are on the same page. It’s what separates an intentional, money-making project from one that’s created on a whim and flops with your audience.

02. Design Production

This is when we put our hair up, grab our super-strong coffee, and get to work! We immerse ourselves in the design and development until it makes sense, looks just right AND ticks all of our strategic boxes.

And don’t worry, we’ll review our progress with you to get your input constantly and on time.

03. Wrap up

Finally, the moment you've been waiting for! The project is now ready to be launched or handed off to your developers. In this final step, we ensure that you are set up for success by providing a wrap-up call and walkthrough videos that you and your team can rewatch as guides.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you offer payment plans?

Technically, yes. You are required to pay a non-refundable deposit of 50% of the cost of a sprint. After that, you will be billed at the end of each sprint (every two weeks) until the project is completed. If you are unfamiliar with the term "sprint" or want to learn more about how we work in 2-week cycles, please check out our How we work section.

I have the low fidelity wireframes of my app. Can you do the visuals?

The short answer is yes, but we will need to evaluate the wireframes before committing to the project. If we find that the low-fidelity wireframes require additional work or that the user experience is not quite there yet, we will let you know and estimate extra time in the project's timeline.

I already have a logo. Can you design my website?

The short answer is yes. However, since we'll need more than just a logo to define the style of your brand and, consequently, your site, we may need to spend extra time on your site's creative direction.

I only need you to do user research or user testing. I already have a designer. Can you do that?

Technically, yes, we can do user research or user testing on its own. However, we prefer to work on projects that include hands-on design work. In situations where you only need research or testing, we recommend hiring us as consultants to help plan the work and train your in-house designer to execute the research or testing.

How will we communicate during this process?

We will use Slack for short messages, Zoom for video calls, and Figma for design feedback. Additionally, we will send you a weekly report to update you on the project's progress.

Will Pili do my designs?

Pili leads every project from beginning to end, and is in charge of client communication, strategy, and creative direction for most projects. She has the support of a small but mighty team of designers and developers who work with her to create world-class designs efficiently.
